Biographical Information

Age: 28 (2035), 29 (2036)

Sexuality and Gender: Cishet Male, Demisexual (he/him)

Personality: Nebula is a leader, by every sense of the term. He has an effective sense of justice and compassion, something rare in the lawless parsecs in which he travels. On the other side, he is particularly introverted and craven, traits unbecoming of his position. Despite that, Nebula knows when and how to put in the elbow grease to make something work. Even if it takes a while. More than any of these traits, though, Nebula is curious, always searching for something new to experience and to catalogue.

In The Story

Origins: Biggy's flight from his homeland was not clean. In combat, he and his sister's soul were cursed, and Biggy received his from the Night Sky, a creature of curiosity with skin like the stars. Later, working on the Biggy Clone Project, Nebula was created from the characteristics of the Night Sky. From there, Nebula engaged with science and became obsessed with outer space.

Prior Tales: In 2014, after the end of the Big Legion, Nebula decided to part with Earth. He had seen and experienced enough there, and saying goodbye to his close confidant in Autumn, left into the Rip Portal Hub. From there, he found his way onto a space station deep in the intergalactic wastes, and worked as a ship engineer for quite some time. Here, he met new friends, foes, and everyone in between, some of which would eventually join him in stealing a rustbucket ship for which to go about the universe in the name of justice. They christened it the Solar Hope.

Current Situation: For the past decade or so, things aboard the Solar Hope have been hectic. Each new adventure brings a new problem and often a new solution. The bigger trouble is making sure the solutions stick, and there is a growing amount of people dissatisfied with Nebula's sense of frontier justice. How he and his crew will deal with this, though, is a question yet to be answered...

Abilities

Engineer: Nebula gained a lot of skills working under Biggy, but the one which he went on to call his craft was Engineering, having worked in repairing ships.

• Allows him to create designs for weapons, tools, objects, and machinery. Provided the materials, he can also build them.
• Nebula has specific expertise in the design and maintenance of spacecraft, giving him a leg up in understanding them.

Teleportation: Inherited from the Night Sky, Nebula has an innate ability to wormhole through spacetime.

• Unlike Rip Portals, these wormholes only last while Nebula is traveling through them. So long as he is holding or grabbing something or someone, he can also take them through the wormhole too.
• These wormholes have a limited range, that being within Nebula's line of sight. They also have a limited size, so he can't wormhole large objects he grabs onto.
• Wormholes are effectively silent, which gives him a leg up on sneaking around areas that would normally be impossible.

Absorb: A secondary use of his wormholes, Nebula can create a small pocket dimension to absorb projectiles.

• Providing his timing is correct (and it is often precise), he can open a wormhole to catch any small or medium sized projectile.
• This puts the projectile into a pocket dimension, in which its momentum is preserved. Nebula can open this pocket dimension to release the held projectile at any time.
• The pocket dimension can be used for long term storage of a single projectile (or other item), but will be released when it is next opened.

Miscellaneous Notes

Fun Facts:

• Back when the lore was in Minecraft, Nebula was ender-themed. He retains now the teleportation, though his flavor is now based around wormholes and space.
• Nebula has been space-related, though, for a much longer time. I've just never gotten around to actually writing what Nebula's space adventures really look like.
• Despite being created second, Nebula remarkably has less written for him than the other four "core" Biggy clones, including Erebus.
• Nebula is best friends with Autumn, to the point where the only time he ever visits Earth nowadays is for Autumn's sake.

Writer's Writ: Nebula has struggled to maintain a position in my writing for the longest time. For the longest time, he existed as an unnecessary side character that spoke more about Biggy's development as a character than his own. Because of how long-standing he is, he's in the background of a lot of the early major arcs, including the later campsite arc, the BigGlitch saga, and beyond. It's been my intention to go back to his character and expand upon who he is outside of a context in relation to the other Biggy clones, but never something I've gotten around to doing.
